Billie Clements Interview

Georgia interviewed Billie about how she started DJ’ing.

  1. What made you start DJ’ing?

I loved dance music. My mum would always play it when I was growing up and I just thought it would be quite cool to do as there are not many female DJs about.

  1. How old were you when you started?

I wanted to start when I was 13 but my mum wouldn’t let me as she didn’t think I was serious about it, but she eventually let me start when I was 16.

  1. Where did you first DJ?

I started having DJ lessons then practiced in my bedroom for a year then my first ever set was in a club called the DSI. It was awful! (Haha)

  1. Where has DJ’ing taken you?

DJ’ing has taken me all over the world. I have DJ’d in places like; India, Sweden, Chile, Poland, Ibiza, Marbella, Serbia, Belgium, Amsterdam, Bahrain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and all over the UK.

  1. How did you come up with the idea for ‘Sin Sundays’?

In Liverpool there was nothing on for music on a Sunday and I knew people liked going out on a Sunday, so my best friend and I started in in a Liverpool club and it just got bigger and bigger. We used to go to Ibiza every summer and we thought ‘why not bring it to Ibiza too?’

  1. Where do you travel to DJ now?

Now that we have Sin Sundays in different cities we travel to Amsterdam, Dubai, Croatia, Andorra and all of the places I mentioned above!

  1. Who is your favourite DJ?

I love a lot of different DJs, it depends on my mood, but at the moment I love Carl Cox. If I am at a festival David Guetta is my favourite but I also love Calvin Harris!
