Weekly Department News – 03/11/17

The English department has seen some very busy students this week in both Language and Literature classes. Our Year 10 students have been ‘getting to grips’ with their next text ‘A Christmas Carol’ in preparation for their forthcoming GCSE in June 2018.  They have been introduced to mean, old Scrooge and they are looking forward to unraveling his character in the weeks to come.

Year 11 have been extremely focused on their writing skills this week, studying emotive and powerful speeches. Our students have analysed quite few! They have been inspired by reading speeches by Martin Luther King and Barak Obama and are in preparation to address their own nation very shortly!

We look forward to another productive and exciting half term in the English department.
