ParentWise and Beware of Lurking Trolls
ParentWise
On 21 February the Home Office launched ParentWise, a six-week pilot communications campaign designed to build parents and carers’ understanding of the range of harms their child could be exposed to, help them spot the signs that something could be wrong and empower them to act if they are worried. The campaign will run as a pilot in the West Midlands until 31 March 2022 across social media, local radio, digital audio, out of home and digital display. The areas in the West Midlands covered in the ParentWise campaign include: Birmingham, Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton. Beware of Lurking Trolls
The Home Office also wanted to highlight the “Beware of Lurking Trolls“, programme for primary school children using story books, cartoons, tools and tips to learn more about online safety. It has been developed by the Portsmouth, Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight Safeguarding Board, and has been delivered to schools.
