Our School is based on Spellow Lane and is home to our 14-16 Alternative Provision curriculum and 6th Form students.
Although we have certain freedoms to create innovative organisational structures, much of what we do follows a similar pattern to mainstream schools:
The 39-week year is divided into three terms. In general, the pattern we follow mirrors that of the local Merseyside authorities.
Our registered address is 42 Spellow Lane, Liverpool. L4 4DF.
We are normally open Monday-Friday, 08:00 to 17:00, though students and staff work and learn within agreed flexible work and study arrangements agreed clearly in advance.
Taught group classes and formalised pastoral support begins at 08:30 and ends at 14:45. Students are expected to be present for a minimum of 25 hours per week, five hours per day.
Where practical, we allow for mixed age and ability groupings but we also look to bring students together within their chosen specialist vocational study. Pre-16 students and post-16 students are organised separately to accommodate their specific key stage needs but opportunities to come together as a whole school are frequent.
Once a week we come together for an assembly, focusing on our theme for the week. Once a term, we hold an FA (Focusing on Achievement) Assembly, which allows us to celebrate the successes of our learners.
